EGYPTOLOGY CONTINUED
The following photographs illustrate the inception and completion of two large SARCOHPAGUS art pieces for a show at the Fig Tree Art Gallery, Fresno, Ca.  in August of 2007.

Having viewed some of my mummy figures you can appreciate my interest in going one step further in this intriguing field of mummies and other Egyptian artifacts.

The fiber glass molds that I used for these peices were discarded by an unknown party, and appeared to be used for making a canoe or something similiar.  I found them on the street waiting to be picked up by the trash collector.  I immediately sensed thier value for making my Sarcophagus.  The following photos illustrate the "transformation" into the pieces that were put on exhibit.  I purposely chose to minimalize the decorative nature of each piece, but tried to embody the mood and symbolism of the
century old burial pieces.  (each piece is appoximately 10 feet tall)
